It is Arlene Wakefield Munns my grandma. What is below are just different things about her life.

Born on April 1, 1927
Grew up in Grouse Creek, Utah

She had 3 brothers:
Burdell
Dick
Bob
And 1 sister
Fay
As a family they enjoyed.
HAVING A GOOD TIME
ENJOYED MANY TYPES OF MUSIC
THEY ALSO LOVED TO HAVE PICNICS

Schooling
Grandma loved school she attend up to tenth grade in Grouse Creek.
Her favorite subject was history, specially of the United States.
She was not a straight A student, but still did very well.

Hobbies
Gardening
Croching
Reading
Playing the Accordion

Favorite Songs
Count Your Many Blessings
Praise to the Man
Beautiful Iowa
Red Sails in the Sunset
It is not Secret
Down the River of Golden Dreams
Let the Rest of the World go By
It Had to be You
Side; Side; Side
Night Time in Nevada
My Happiness
Until We Meet Again

Favorites
Flower: Sweet Peas
Color: Lavender or Blue
Fruit: Apricot
Vegetable: Peas
Animal: Dog
Book: Man of the Forest, and Anne of Green Gables
Movie: White Christmas

Unique Story
When she was a Junior in High School she moved to Tremonton with her grandparents for they did not offer past tenth grade where she was going to school. When she moved to Tremonton this was the first time in her life she had electricity, show houses, restaurants, and running water.

Major Changes in Her Life
She says she had only one major change in her life, and that was marrying my grandpa, Francis Rohland Munns. On Jan 26, 1946.

Why She is revolutionary to Me
She is always so nice, and taught me so many things about life. She also knows so many little tippets to make life easier ( like where to keep your bananas so they last longer). She also has the most amazing musical talent you have ever seen, and is always willing to share it. She also always writes me letters, they are long letters like people use to write, and are so detailed. We probably have her life history just from all her letters.

Clark Planetarium

On Friday I got to go the Clark Planetarium for my science term project. It was lots of fun to go to the show, and watch it on their big bubble theater. The exhibits were also fun to look at. I think it is very important for us to learn about what is beyond our earth so here our my notes I took on the planetarium.

Notes from Clark Planetarium

Movie: Night Vision

· We are limited what we can see in the sky.
· Many stars appear blurred because of light pollution.
· The big dipper is not a constellation.
· The big dipper is a excellent guide to find other constellations both in the Northern, and Southern hemisphere.
· The North Star is not the brightest start.
· Another name for the North Star is Polaris.
· The North Star is famous for is only a few degrees of true north.
· Constellations usually don’t look like what they are named for.
o The Queen of Ethiopia looks like a disfigured shape.
o The little dipper and the little bear are the exact same thing.
· Qutoris are the brightest star in the constellation.
· The Cancer of Crab is a very famous constellation of stars, but does not have very bright stars.
· Elliptic is the path the planets take while rotating.
· Jupiter is the constellation of Vogo.
· Jupiter is so large that you could fit 1000 earths inside it.
· Jupiter also has the most moons then any other planet, with more than 60 that we know of.
· Nebulas are large clouds where stars are born and die.
· We have never been outside our galaxy.
· Our galaxy is 100,000 light years from side to side.
· Mars is being explored with robots called “a spirit of hope”.
· Mars is the only planet you can see physical features with the naked eye.
· The milky way has over 1,000,000 billion stars.

Displays:

Apollo 17 the last manned voyage to the moon.
Mercury
1 day is equal to 176 earth days.
Temperature variations can go from 797 F to –279 F.
The sun sometimes will rise twice on one day, due to the slow rotation.
It also has no natural moons.
Venus
The sun rises in the west and sets in the east.
The atmosphere is made up of mostly carbon-dixide.
Mars
Olympus Mons is the tallest mountain in our solar system.
In 2002 the orbiting “Mars Odyssey” spacecraft reveled evidence that there may be fresh water.
Has two moons, Phobos, and Delimos.
Jupiter
Is like a mini solar system.
Has a great red spot where a giant storm has been raging for the past 400 years.
Uranus
Spins on its side.
Season last over 20 years.
Has at least 20 moons.
Was discovered by William Herschel on March 13, 1781.
Is a gas planet.
Neptune
First planet located through mathematical predictions.
Orbits the sun every 164 years.
Its seasons last 41 years.
Had a fly-by visit from Voyager 2 spacecraft in 1989.
Saturn
Is less dense than water.
Winds in its upper atmosphere reach 1,100 miles per hour.
Its rings our made up of large ice chunks some as large as a car.
Its mass 95 times greater than earth.
A day on Saturn is to hours.
Pluto
At least seven moons in our atmosphere are bigger than Pluto.
Discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930.
Takes 248 years to orbit year.
The Life cycle of a star.
Stars are born from huge clouds and gas.
Gravity pulls dense globules together until hydrogen fusion begins in the core.
Stars burn hydrogen for a very long time.
When hydrogen in the star is used up, the star dies, shedding mass into space. The lost mass is mixed back into the rest of the galaxy forming new clouds of dust and gas.
Family

To me my family is very important. So I decided you know some about me, but known about my family. So I will give you a summary of my family starting with my dad.

my dad Bryan Archie Munns was born on Nov. 30. This article is on how bears, and wolves go about killing another animal. Then who eats it, and who is left with nothing.

A moose has been injured. So in come those who wish to kill him so that they may have food. A mother bear with cubs is the first to arrive, but then the wolves come. The wolves threaten the bear cubs so the mother backs off to protect her cubs. The wolves start to taunt the moose by pushing him in the river, and allowing him to get up then to push him back. The moose is in the water, and cannot get up. He floats about 200 yards down river when two wolves pull him out, dead. Another bear approaches the carcass, but is chased away by the wolves. The wolves leave, the mother bear returns. When the wolves come back they find her eating, they slowly approach her, but she does not chase then away together they eat.

I think it is great that a wolf and bear can join together and eat. That is so rare because they are usually enemies. Maybe the drive for food is softening the hate for one another. For if they are chased off they will not get any food, but if they share they get some food.

The writers make a statement in the article, which backs up my opinion perfectly. “Such a scene is almost never observed, even by seasoned wildlife biologists. Why did these animals end up sharing their food? Was it because most were young and inexperienced? Or was it because the benefits of eating outweighed the risk of fighting over the last scraps?” I think that it explains what I mean perfectly.

I think this is a wonderful occurrence that many people never get to witness. I hope that we may all respect animals, and nature so we may continue to learn about them, and the many secrets they hold.

Sacrifices

Sacrifices are a great part of are lives. Not so much now, but look at are ancestors, and all that they sacrificed to live, love, and even to relocate homes under extreme pressure. Here are some quotes I have found from people about sacrifice, and those that have experienced it.

"So, we have both suffered. We must help one another and the Great Spirit will help us both"
-Chief Pied Riche, Pottawattamie Tribe, June 1846

"A large amount of labor has been done since arriving in this grove. One of the places you could vist their was a blacksmith shop. They showed you how they made horse shoes, and how the equipment worked. They also told us a story of how some wedding rings were made. For many people did not have enough money for the nice kind. So the used their heads, and made a great solution for the problem. So here is the story.

Prairie Diamond

There once was a man with a beautiful daughter, and they were crossing the plains to reach the Salt Lake Valley. The girl had three boys courting her; all wanted her hand in marriage. The father decided that the boys were wasting their time, and his. So he told his daughter that she needed to choose one to marry, or he would set a contest. She could not make up her mind for she did not want to hurt any of them, but she did admit there was one that she loved more than the other two. She wanted to see if he loved her enough to complete the contest.

He then gathered the three suitors together, and told them that the first one to present his daughter with a diamond ring would get to marry her. Two of the boys were instantly not interested for they knew not where they would get a diamond ring, and decided she was not worth it. One of the boys was determined to get a diamond ring (the one she specially liked.) That night, he sat by the fire thinking as hard as he could where he would get a diamond ring. Then something shiny caught his eye, it was a horseshoe nail. He picked up the nail on examined while thinking, for nothing was left for waste on their journey west for everything was useful. All of sudden he realized that the top of the nail looked like a diamond, or very close to. So the next day he took the nail to a blacksmith in his company, and asked him to shape it into a ring. The blacksmith asked him how big, and the boy told him to make it fit a lady, with a slender finger. For what he hoped would be his future bride was a very small person in structure. The boy then took the horseshoe nail ring to the girl and called it a prairie diamond. The father agreed to let her marry him, for he had presented her with a diamond ring. She was very glad that he loved her enough to over come the problem so they could get married.

Also in Nauvoo we visited a place called Trail of Hope. Is the street the pioneers walked down to cross the Mississippi River for their trip west. This is a poem/story of a women's ansectors feelings, and hers.

Parley Street
Feb. 1846 and June 2002

Before she walked Parley Street
her aching heart
surveyed what must be left behind.
When fleeing for life there is no
room to unload the root-cellar of
food stored from autumn harvest.
She looked tenderly
to table and chairs
where many meals were served
to firewood stacked by the lean-to
inside, sturdy brick walls
built for security and peace.

She walked Parley Street
with a tiny babe wrapped
tightly against the cold,
leading children who
did not understand.
Her husband, with comforting arm
assured inner strength.
She gazed to the brightly lit temple,
knowing all it represented.
She left behind hopes and dreams
built into this city.
With apron wet with tears
she contemplated the road ahead
focusing on obedience to
leaders and God.

Today I feel her presence
and walk in humble reverence.
I have an overwhelming
debt of gratitude.
I rejoice to see the temple
renewed from memory,
a city beautifully restored.
Tears flow once again
on Parley Street.

Gladys Joy Van de Merwe

The Red Bug

I had to create a new creature for science. My is called the Red Bug it looks like a lady bug. We then had to write about, and tell all about it. Here is my wright up.

THE RED BUG
Nektonic, Pelagic
Neritic Habitat

The Red Bug lives in the Photic Zone. He is red and black like a ladybug. He does not change colors, for that does not help them survive.

The main way these bugs survive is because they taste very nasty. There are few animals that are sometimes hungry enough to try for them, but then they use their synchronized swimming skills, and form an arrow and point it another direction. The predator then will become confused, and swim the other way. That is also why man has not discovered them, for they see the arrow and they believe no fish is that smart. So then they believe that are just loony. So they don’t tell anyone so no one else will find them loony. The Red Bug simply gets it food by flying down the perfect piece of seaweed then just nipples off what he wants. The Red Bug does not have a territory they swim where they want to, but they prefer warmer oceans.

The Red Bugs are very light eaters, but they prefer to eat seaweed. So I guess this would make them Herbivores. They are very picky eaters as well for they will only eat seaweed the color of this green.

The Mating Rituals are kind of strange it occurs once a year on June 17 (my birthday). Then the men go to one side and the women on another being about 10 feet apart. Then swim toward each other then they a dance similar to the virginia reel. They switch partners at least 20 times. First (this is from the ladies perspective) they swim two partners down. Then they jump over four going left. They then will split into three different circles switching in and out looping right and left. After they have repeated this for about thirty minutes the partner they end up with is their mate.

The Red Bug starts out as what it will look like when it is full-grown, just smaller. When they are first born they are about 2 cm, when they become full grown adults they will be anywhere between 5-7cm big. For them to become full-grown it will usually take 3 months. Their average lifetime is a year and a half. Most die of old age or are eaten by other animals.

Why We Should Read Books?

WHY SHOULD WE READ BOOKS?

Books can help you in so many ways. They can help society, they really improve us and make us different people. When reading books you can get a big variety of style of writing, and many different plots, by many different authors. You can read books that are about things before T.V. was even created. Reading and buying books also really helps the economy.

In society we have had many things happen that have been awful, and almost destroyed a country, or many many people. We can prevent these things from ever happening by knowing what caused them, and how to prevent those things happening. People write books about what happened to cause such awful things by finding these things out we can prevent history from repeating itself.

Buying, reading and selling books we can help the economy. When we buy books we are giving a reason for a bookstore to be where it is. We are also helping an author and publishing company. When a publishing company prints a book they send it to a store then the store will sell in and bring in money for them and the author. So by one or more authors writing we can help many people keep jobs, and help the economy.

We should limit ourselves on T.V. for it can strain your eyes and creativity. What we watch on television may not always be the most appropriate thing for us to watch. Many times when a company makes a movie it is based on a book. If we read the book we will have a greater understanding of what is occurring. In the movie we only get bits and pieces.

Personally we all need books because they help our imagination. If we see it on T.V. someone else has done the interpreting for us. When we read the book we see things how we think they should be. We will also have greater reading skills. Reading will help you understand how to do things without following just what we see, like when we read a instruction manual. Books have a huge amount of words many we do not know, but could come to know them through reading, and using context clues to determine what the word means.

In the quote by Ray Bradbury in the book Fahrenheit 451, which is about the importance of reading and learning from what we read. In the books there is a character by the name of Faber who has this knowledge. He says the following quote “Three things are missing: 1-quality of information; 2-leisure time digest what you read; 3-the right to carry out actions based on what we have learned.” (page 84) This quote is referring to what a good book needs, and what we need to enjoy the book. He also says society is missing many of these kinds of things. By reading and enjoying books we can prevent this.

So reading books is very important to many people. It can help society with economy, and preventing horrible things to happen again. We also need books to help with are communication, and learning to use are imagination. So lets all settle down find a good book and read.

Resilient

Resilience-capable of withstanding shock without permanent deformation or
-rupture tending to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change

FIND OUT HOW RESILIENT YOU ARE

From 1 to 5, rate how much each of the following applies to you (1=very little, 5=very much)

1 2 3 4 5 Curious, ask questions, want to know how things work, experiment

1 2 3 4 5 Constantly learn from your experience and the experiences of others.

1 2 3 4 5 Need and expert to have things work well for yourself and others. To me it is so much funnier to give a present if I have made it. To me it shows you aprricate them more, and spent time thinking about the gift. Many give a candy bar they hurried, and bought at the store. The candy is nice, but I would perfer a card written with a very thoughtfull thought inside. I guess this is just a matter of opnion but I bet most of you will agree with me. It is just my Anthem essay for the contest.

Why do people not want to change the world for the better? They reject a great gift that is being given for the good of the community. This man Prometheus begins to understand why this gift he wishes to give is rejected. We as the readers discover what makes him different from his other brothers.
Prometheus discovers when he tries to give his gift they don’t want. They knew they could change they just did not wish to make the change. For they gave the excuse that it took fifty years to decide how many candles to make, and to change from torches to candles. They also made it quite clear they did not appreciate what he did for they wished to destroy the box of light he had worked so hard on. This leads to the sad conclusion that the Council of Scholars did not wish to change their way of life, and they functioned the community they ran. Prometheus runs away before they can catch him and through this he understands that he needs to leave because he has changed too much to stay.
Prometheus begins to understand toward the end of the book he has changed to much. He also discovers the sad truth that they do not wish to change, and will not change. What is the saddest is they could have changed. They had chances to change, and they did not take them. They burned him, because he knew the forbidden word. He could have changed the community, and they prevented it by burning him. I think one thing that brings him to free himself is that they do not want his help, or what he can contribute to the community. For he realizes the reason he was a street-sweeper is because he was smart. He had brains that others did not. For him being smart, and a street-sweeper made it so he could not make a difference and use his brains to help the community. By putting those in where that were not so intelligent the community had no hope of changing, or becoming better. Knowing that he has become to different to continue living in the community, so he leaves.
Being different can make it very hard to live in a community, and that is exactly the problem Prometheus had. Not only is he wanted by the authorities, but could destroy the community. Prometheus understands science, and the work of light, electricity and all that. The community does not want this so they wish to destroy him. If there is anything important he has learned, it is love. Meeting the Golden One he learns what it is like to care for someone. He does not wish to continue life without her, and his community does not allow them to love someone, or something. He has also come to know the forbidden ego for he will want to help himself. Which is fine, but in his community he had to give all his thoughts and cares to his fellow brothers. So he does not know what it is like to care a little about you.If you haven’t read this book I would suggest it. You learn how one person can make a huge difference. It shows the strength and courage of a man learning why a precious gift can be rejected, and destroyed. He also comes to learn how he can be different, and free himself. He also learns why the Council of Scholars wish to remain how they are. He learns why he is different. There is a quote by Juan Ramon Jimenez that goes, “If you are given ruled paper, write the other way.” Prometheus was one of those that wrote the other way.

The Months

Here is my story for the commas. I was meaning to post it by Monday for last week, but the system was weird. So I forgot, and I just remembered. So here it is.

The Months

As the English became closer to figuring out the months of the year, they decided they needed to give each of the twelve months a name depending on the different holidays, and weather. They decided they would name January after a beautiful girl named Jan, who loved the snow so much she would rather sleep in freezing cold snow than in her bed. She later married a young man who last name was Uary so she was known as January. Since Jan was the first person they placed in charge of the months, she was in charge of deciding the name of the months. So the next month was February, because she would tell a feb when it came to Valentine’s day for they would not figure out who gave them the wonderful Valentine so as her nickname when it was not snowing was February. As she grew older, a few years later she had a wonderful son and named him March as the next month. As the years past she had another child. Which she called April, because April was always crying the first month after she was born. So that is why there is lots of rain in April. As she decided what to call the next month she came to the conclusion that she would name the month May because there are lots of flowers, and that is when the Mayflower reached the United States. June became the month of love for that was the year she celebrated her fifty-year anniversary. As she became older she was trying to teach March it was not right to lie so during this month she would continue to as him did you lie, but she said it so quickly, being a person that talks quickly, it sounded like she said July. As she grew older she longed to have children, but knew that she was getting old. When the great day arrived she was delighted to have August, and September. As the next month approached she came to realize the perfect name would be October. For her daughter April was not making some wise choices. So Jan would keep asking her daughter you ought not be doing that but then, again being a very fast speaker it started sounding like October. As the next month came she decided to call it November for that was the first word August had learned. She also liked it because it said no in it. For some reason she hated Thanksgiving, specially the turkey, pies, and stuffing. Last month became known as December for that was the first word that September had learned. So now Jan could rest peacefully for all the months had a name.
-Nothing in this story is true.

The True Story of the Black Pearl

Here is my short story. My grandpa told this story so I changed some of it, gave it a title, and wThe True Story of the Black Pearl

As the boat rocked back, and forth the passengers were all tired from the heat of the sun, and all the fishing done early that day. As we were preparing to head into the marine of Yellowstone National Park the captain took us passed the shipwreck on the North side of Stevenson Island. As he stopped the boat, and it continued to rock back and forth we could tell the captain was getting ready to tell a story.
The captain begun as he always began. When I was a young man maybe in my early twenties I was the Captain of a boat called the Black Pearl. They called me Captain Sid, and we spent most of our time on the Lake of Yellowstone National Park. We would spend our time robbing the ships as they brought tourist to see the Lake of Yellowstone. One day something different happened.
We saw roaming across the lake a beautiful steamer. She was at least 38 quipic feet long, about as long as the Black Pearl. We started on the chase, as we approached nearer, we saw to our great surprise that the ship also had cannons aboard as we did. So we opened fire, the ship fired back, but we hit its main post and the ship collapsed. We rushed forward to gather our plunder. We did not take everything as we did not need it all, and because we were good pirates we never took more than we needed. As we decided we did not want to leave any tracks behind we burned the beautiful steamer.
What a fire it was. It burned for at least 12 hours. Yho have never seen such bright colors of red, and orange. You wonder what happened to the crew. We decided rather them killing them, because that sounded a bit extreme, so we just left them on Stevenson Island, and hope that the park service would find them. There was one down fall to this plan. The park rangers were sure to come after us. So we decided it was time we left Yellowstone Lake. We headed down the Yellowstone River, and to our great horror, and surprised there was a huge waterfall at the bottom of this river. Well a course their was nothing we could do to stop the great Black Pearl. So we all ran for the dingie’s luckily none of went down the river, but oh our beautiful Black Pearl was smashed into so many pieces that you would never know it once had been a magnificent boat.
So we held a meeting of pirates, these meetings are very important for they decide our fate. So we heard many arguments of what we should do. Many want to stay in Yellowstone, and play mean tricks on the campers. Others like my idea of heading to California to buy our own boat. In the end, majority won. We decided to head to California to purchase a new boat. When we arrived in California we bought a new boat, it was red, and white. We did not want the park rangers to be suspicious of us buying a boat that looked like a pirate ship. We could not name it the Black Pearl because that name brought back to many great memories. The great ending to this story is that park rangers never found us. We still have yearly reuions, but this may be a surprise, we all left the pirate career and not one of us has been put in jail for any other crime. May sound surprising saying we are all a bunch of pirates at heart. As one great wave hit the side of the boat we realized that Grandpa was ready to captain his own small boat, and his family safety back to the marina. We all glanced back to see the burned remains of the steamer, and realized maybe for once in Grandpa’s stories he was telling the truth. As we were all walking away from the boat heading back to are campsite we were all lost in deep thought of the true story of the Black Pearl. rote it down.

Ships

This is for the week of Feb 14, begining written a little late.

Mr. Thompson the only people I could think of that deal with your comment is Harriet Trumen, for being brave with the underground railroad. The other person Thomas Edison for all that he discovered. Who were you thinking of?

About the title of the blog now. I found a wonderful quote. For more visit the Discussion Board. The quote is "If your ship doesn't come in, then swim to it" by: Jonathan Winters

To me this is saying if what you want does not happen then go out and try harder to reach it. A strange example of going out to your ship that doesn't go with the quote, and just popped in to my mind is when Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean escapes from being hung by William Turner falls off in to the water and swims out to the Black Pearl. Now I think about it, it does work for Jack had to try many different ways to become again the capatain of the Black Pearl.

It can also mean more time and effort to reach it. Many ships just come up to you and all you have to do is grab the rope, and tie them down. If you have to go out to get your ship you have to drag it in then tie it down. So everybody keep trying your hardest.

Yes I am finally catched up on all my Honor's English stuff.

Anthem Newsletter

Since I got behind this blog is last weeks blog. Here is the newsletters for the Anthem.

ATTENTION ALL!
Attention stuning news one of our fellow brothers has left us for a place we do not like to mention. This brother has chosen the wrong path, and for that reason will not be returned to this community. The Council of City will not release anymore information, on what Equality 7-2521 a street-sweeper has done. They request that we write that any man that has any ideas of not following the laws should be warned that the laws will be heavily forced, and newer laws making punishments more severe will be coming soon. We want you to also remember if you see Equality 7-2521 he is no longer one of us and our brother. Please report any sighting of this dangerous man.

KEEP IT A SECRET!
For all that are reading this paper know not was written truly happened to Equality 7-2521. So I am here to tell. I am International 4-8818 a friend and fellow street-sweeper with Equality. Equality and I found a under tunnel while we were street-sweeping. While we all went to the entertainment Equality left and discovered many wonders that were not known to us, and our people. Equality was a very smart person, so they put him in the street-sweeping position. That he couldn’t discover the hidden wonders of are community. Equality discovered many things that would destroy our community. For example he learned what love was and fell in love. He also discovered electricity which is light without heat, and would make our civilization a lot easier. Remember not to tell anyone I am hoping to find him then he can give us more information on this discovery.

The article above is printed in a private newspaper, given to only a few people.

Books are Important!

I love to read so I have wrote about some books that I read in earlier this year, and a little into last year. Some of them are on the A.R. list.

Books I Have Read
Since January 2005

High Stakes by: Jennie Hansen- This book is about one girl who her dad is a gambler. His parents both killed by out laws. These two kids have to help each other in able to survive. She learns how to trust again, and he learns that needs to forget his past.

Christy by: Catherine Marshall- It is about a eighteen year old girl who goes to work in the mountains as a schoolteacher. It teaches to try and to keep going, and the different ways you can help people. I thought that it was a very good book.

Anthem by: Ayn Rand- This book was okay; I read it for Honors English. It tells about a very controlled community, and how one man breaks that way of life, and really learns about life.

Angel Island by: Dan Yates- It is not one of Dan Yates better one but it okay. It is about a girl whose parents are not very good parents. So she is a very distant girl who leans how to love someone, and come to know that people can love her. Dan Yates has many angel books in a series, and many that are not in the series.

Ella Enchanted by: Gail Carson Levine- It was a wonderful about a girl who is forced to do what she doesn’t wish to do. What she does to fight against, and how she solves her problem. It is similar to Cinderella, but so much better. There is also a great film about this movie staring Anne Hathaway.
Macady by: Jennie Hansen-A drug ring is going on, and they shoot at the wrong person. It is also about two people who have been terrible hurt, and how they learn to trust. This is an excellent book.

Bitter Or Better?

As you can probably tell by know I like quotes. So my one for this week is

During hard times Do you get bitter? Or better?
-John H. Groberg

I have to agreed with the statement. For many people that don't get their way just throw a fit and give up. I know one person similar that wants help, but gets furious at you if you are trying to help them hardest, and it is just not making sense. (It is not me!)

I think many people that take it with the right attitude will get farther, for they bite the bullet, and get to work, then become better for they have conquered something, and have not hurt, or insulted people along the way.

This will probably not interest anybody, but the Clyite Adams dance company are those doors on Kaysville's main street that just have numbers, and curtains, and no sign saying what they are. This morning at dance we learned all about one of the studio's (studio C). We learned that it once was a flower shop, and grocery store, a post office, and one of those places were you went if you wanted to make a phone call, the operator would put you throughout. That is not probably interesting, but to me it is for I have spent hours, and hours dancing in that studio, and all the others.

If You Could Live Forever......

This will be one of my first blogs with real meaning, so it may not be the best so just give me a chance. I decided to put my feelings down about a quote I like. I love to collect good quotes so if you know a good one please let me know. The one for this week I don't know who wrote it.

"Live like you will die tomorrow, dream like you will live forever."

First live like you will die tomorrow. Many of us are always putting off things that we need to do, like homework, calling a friend who is feeling low, writing a letter or e-mail, or even telling someone thank you, or I'm sorry. We should try to do everthing that needs to be done that day to get it done, for we start with a clean slate tomorrow. Many people need a compliment that you meant to give, but didn't and they couldn't wait till tomorrow. Also if you put everthing off when are you going to do what you want to. The human brain, or least mine doesn't remember things long, unless I do them or write them down, isn't it easier just to do them right away.

Second part dream like you will live forever. I mean what is funnier then sitting in class day dreaming(sorry Mr Thompson no offense inttended). Not only in class but when you are sitting alone, or just laying in bed. You dream of incredible things. Like swimming around the entire world, or floating on the highest cloud. We can dream what we want and what we don't want. Many people even consider this like dreaming of the dream vacation, and what you can do forever. Just don't forget life isn't forever, so live prepared, and dream big.

Term Changing

Term 3 Above

Term 2 Below

Blog Number 15

I will now list about M*A*S*H season six.

SEASON SIX CAST

Alan Alda...Captain "Hawkeye" Pierce

Mike Farrell...Captain B.J. He is very erogant, and drives Hawkeye, and B.J. about over the edge. type='text'>Blog Number 13

Honors English
Peace Builders Writing Assignment
The Yearling

The book the “Yearling” contains deeper things then just what you see, you need to read between the lines. This following essay is about the peace builder qualities in this book. Praise people, give up put downs, seek wise people, notice hurts, right wrongs. The following paragraphs will be about praise people, giving up put downs, and righting wrongs.

Praising people helps the person feel much better about themselves. Penny often praises Jody on how he his improving his hunting skills, and becoming more like a man. The Forresters also praise Penny on how well his hunting skills are. If you praise people you are not so likely to be putting them down.

Giving up put downs is an important thing, for then you are not hurting people, but lifting them up. Jody learns this by deciding to rethink his feelings about Oliver, when he fought Len Forrester. He also gives up put-downs when he rethinks his opinions about his mother and father. He thought that he wasn’t loved, but soon discovered that his parents do love him. By him giving up put downs he was more able to right his wrongs.

Jody does quite a few things wrong, but makes them right. Like when the Forresters set fire to Jody’s grandmothers house, and then the Baxters won’t speak to the Forresters then Jody goes over and apologizes, and ask them to keep his deer. Jody also works very hard to build a fence around the corn, because Flag got into it and ate it.
So now see what following simple ideas can lead to. Just remember praise people, give up put downs, seek wise people, notice hurts, right wrongs.

Blog Number 12/My Typing Practice

As I sit here and are trying to figure out what to type I decided, just this once that I am going to practice my typing skills. Lund
I would like to write and tell your the effect you series the Work and the Glory has had on me. I could not decide if one book effected me more then the other, for it was the whole series that effected me. Two were three main areas where your books touched me most: my moral standards, and good story.

I learned some moral standards, like never giving up. When the pioneers crossed the plains you did not see them stopping every two minutes, because the mud puddles were so bad, another example of the saints never giving up is they would not give up their religion for anything. They moved at least four different places before they tried heading west, and abided to the ridiculous rules established by their persecutors. Another standard that I admired was their hard work, and dedication. For example, building all those temples, and being kicked out just as they were finished. It took hard work for them to keep restarting farms, and other businesses. One more great thing was they learned to humble themselves and follow others, and take others suggestions. For example, when they were crossing the plains they run into the huge fire, Nathan Steed suggest that they build a second fire to stop the first, which they all agreed to, and nobody was hurt or killed. One more example of this is when the time they had to leave places, most of them went, even if they thought it wasn’t best, they followed their leaders.

The other thing that had an effect was me on how descriptive everything is, one of reasons I love to read is that you lose yourself in the book. The stories that were in this book I have heard many times over and over, but I wouldn’t want to read them anywhere else other then these books. I love to learn new things and facts about things I enjoy I have always loved to learn about the saints, and when the LDS church was started. This book just helped me to learn so much more them.

Thank you so much for writing these books, if you ever think that they don’t impact someone, I am telling you know they had a great effect on me.

Thank You, Ashley Munns

Blog Number 10

This week was great fun for it was Thanksgiving, and the Work and the Glory came out. First thing is first thanksgiving.
This year we went to my mom's parents house. Next year we will go to my dad's parents but we did go there for a good chat, for my grandparents only live five minutes apart. We had a wonderful dinner, and all my cousins were there except for three (they went to their other grandparents). For me the dinner was very good, I don't know what was the best. My mom was in charge of making the pie's, and a jello she made a cranberry jello. The pies my mom made with the help of my little sister they made: 1 apple, 2 banana cream, 1 cherry, and bought two pumpkin pies. I made the middle for the banana cream from scrach, it is not an easy recipe, luckily I had my mom to help me. After we ate dinner and pie we helped my grandpa put up this Christmas lights. My dad and uncle did not like the idea of my grandpa climbing the latter, so we all helped to it. Then after coming in we made trains from candy.
The Work and the Glory was wonderful. I went Wednesday with my friend and her older sister. I will say what everyone alway's says because it is true, the movie is not as good as the books but the movie could not have been better. I can't wait till the next one comes out, even though I have read all the books, and knows what happens next. I personnoly felt that every character did a wonder job in there part. I do think that some of the ladies clothes were much to fancy then what they would usually were. If you read in the newspaper it tells you that there is violence, all there is pretty much is punching each other in the nose a few times. There is some kissing if you consider violence, but that is it. I think that you should go and see it.

Blog Number 9

Awhile ago there was a contest that you had to write an essay, about what subject you would take. So here is my essay.

I am so excited I am turning 11 years old. So I will get to go to Hogwarts. I want to be in Gryffindor. The one class I am really excited to go to is Transfiguration. My sister says that she is really nice and that her class is fun and excited. I just think it would be great to make things turn into different objects, especially when my brother is being annoying.
What if I need ink, but have a extra piece of parchment. I could simply turn the parchment into some ink, and send the letter with my owl Wild Flower home to my parents. Another great thing if you are good at Transfiguration.
What’s say you get into a dueling match, but are not good at disarming. Just turn your opponent into a goblet.
I also think it will be great to learn all the hidden passage ways and the many secrets of the castle. I can’t wait to see the library, I will be able to learn so much with all those books just a little ways from my dormitory. I am also excited to meet all the new people and make many new friends. I hope all the teachers are nice. My sister tells me that they are all nice except, Professor Snape. That is probably only to everybody except, the Slytherin. She also says that Professor Trelawny is very strange, and her room smells horrible. Madam Pomfrey well she can get very grumpy at times if you are sick, and do not follow her instructions. I also thing it would be great to meet Professor Dumbldore. I am just so excited that I will get to go to Hogwarts. I am going to have so much fun. e at Hogwarts so here is mine.

Blog Number 8/Ballet Class

Instead of telling about Nutcraker, I will tell about my dance class. I go on Tuesday, and Thursday from 3:15-4:45. On Saturday's I go from 8:00-10:00. My class gets out at 9:20 on Saturdays, but I like to stay and do pilat'es with the next class. On Tuesday's we do the whole time on toe shoes. Thursday we do have toe and half technique shoes. Saturday's we do all technique shoes. My teachers name is Leslie Christian she is the oldest of Clytie's daughters. We usually start by warming are selfs up, by rolling are ankles, head, swing arms and such. For about the first half-hour to forty-five minutes of class we work at the bar. I won't name the combinations, because I don't know how you write, because they are in French, so I will describe. We usually do the same kind of combination for a month then change. We have combinations that concentrate on one thing with a few other steps added in. My favorite combination is called Grande' Allegro, it is what you might see people performing on stage. It includes turns, leaps, and other fun steps. If you want me to describe it any better come talk to me at school.
In my class there are about eighteen girls. I would tell you there names, but we are not suppose to mention names. I will say this thought, one of the girls that does Honors English is in my dance class. I will try to describe them. Most of them are taller than me. ( I am 5'1''). The tallest one is a little more than a head taller. They are all in ninth grade except for one in eighth grade, and one in tenth grade. About half attend Kaysville Jr. High, 2 attend Fairfield including me, 2 Farmington, 1 Central Davis, 1 Davis High School, the rest I am not sure about.
I have danced with these girls for the nine years I have taken dance. I have come to know these select few for the fast 3 years because, we have been in the same class. Except when someone comes or leaves. When you start there are maybe five to six classes your age group. There are now two my age group. On is really small, because the people don't come. My class is larger because most of them do come. We do have two cheerleaders in my class, and they don't come very often.
The hardest thing for me to do in dance is my turns. I can not spot for the life of me. I am getting better my favorite turns are called picaes, probably because that is what I am best at. ( They are lot funner on toe). The thing I enjoy the most is jumps. You fill so in shape when you do them.
Many people say that toe hurts your toes, but it really doesn't, across after awhile it will. The problem I have the most is my arches. They get really cramped, and soar. I have to tape them, and were supports in tennis shoes. I only have gotten a few blisters, my toes are now calsuesd.

Blog Number 7

I have just read a discussion entry by Brittine Reid, about her book she is writitng. I wish I could write, maybe I could I just haven't set down to really try. In the first place I wouldn't know what to write about, if anyone could give me any idea's I would be very appreciative.

Lately I have been reading "The Yearling" like everyone else should. I don't think it is so bad, but not much goes on, it slowly's drag. I have stopped reading Pride and Prejudice for a while. I am planning to watch the movie and try to read it again, maybe I will understand it better.

I was looking over old blogs and noticed that I had a few comments so I will answer them now. I do think that the LDS romance books would be fine for a person of a different religion to read. Most of them, the characters live by the LDS standards, and attend church on Sunday, some go a little deeper in to the religon. The other question is about the Nutcraker, the ticket sales are over. You are still able to call Weber State, and make ticket arrangments there. There are a few other people at Fairfield that are in it.

This morning/afternoon my brother and sister, and I were watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I will just write down a few things that about what I notice and like about the movie. (It may be out of order.)
1. During the dueling club, when Harry and Malfoy are walking away the music playing matches extactly what Sean Thomas is doing with his head.
2. Hermione's hair I think does not look quite as poofy, I like that.
3. I think that they follow the books very well.
4. I like how timid Ron is when they are going to take Hagrids advice, and follow the spiders.
5. I also like how Harry, Ron, and Hermione become better friends.

Sorry if this not a five hundred words this week I will try to do it more in advance.

Term 2 Above

Term 1 Below

Blog Number 6

I am still reading PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austin. Their mother is still trying to get them married. I have also finally figured out without he help of Heidi. The order of the girls from oldest to youngest. Jane
Elizabeth
Mary
Catherine
Lydia.
I hope I spelled those correctly. Elizabeth is trying not to like Mr. Darcey. Then he asks her for a dance. While they are dancing they are making conversation, about what they dislike, and how they should be having their coversations. That is about as far has a have gotten. I will add more once I have read more. Mr. Collins Elizabeth's cousin. He proposes to her and she refuses, but he just does not believe her. Her mother finds out about this and tells her that if she does not marry Mr. Collins then she will not talk to her ever again. Her dad though tells her if she marry's Collins he will never talk to her again. She decides not to marry Collins.

I watched Ella Enchanted at Heidi's house on Friday. I thought it was a very good show. I did not realized that Anne Hathaway had such a good voice, or maybe it is not her real voice. I think it is. I thought it was very well done. I specially like how hard she tried to break the curse, and was not able to until it was love that made her brake it. I also did not like her one sister, I thought she was very mean. I really enjoyed thought the fact that it had elfs, ogars, and giants in it. I hope we can rent it one Friday at Comos' Video. Then when my cousin's come to stay they can watch it with us. Since they seem to think we kind of watch old fashion movies, and war movies. Probably because it is true. I am very excited because I get to watch it tonight with my cousins Abby, Tawnni, and Sammy.

My favorite t.v. show is M*A*S*H, it takes place during the Korean war, as a mash unit. There are many characters, and it last for thirteen seasons.
Col. Henry Blake-was there for the first three season. He was not very military, and a very relaxing game.
Trapper John McIntire- was a surgeon so was Henry. Liked to play praticle jokes. His nickname is Trapper. He was there for the first three seasons left a few episodes after Henry.
Frank Burns-He is a surgeon, but not very good. He is also very G.I. and most people hate him. He left after the first five seasons. His nickname was Farriot Face.
Col. Sherman T. Potter-was the next commanding officer. Frank was for about five episodes then is replaced by Col. Potter. Col. Potter is an older man, but a very good surgeon. The Korean war was his third war.
Capt. B.J. Hunticutt-came in the fifth season. Him and Frank only played one season together. He was there for the rest of the seasons. He is a very good surgeon.
Maj. Charles E. Winchester-is very arogant, and a lot of money. He is a very good surgeon, and considers above everyone.
Cor. Radar O'Riley-Is the company clerk he is there for the first eight seasons.

Their is only four I haven't yet told you about and they were there for the whole time.
That will wait though for next time.

Blog Number 5

My book is called THE HEART FOREVER written by Kerry Blair. It is between the The Heart has its Reasons, and the Heart Only Knows. It is really good. They get engaged in it, and Clyite gets ask out to the prom. She receives a mysterious egg, but I will not tell you about it, because Heidi is sitting next to me. She has not yet read it. I do not with to give her any clues. The bell is about to ring, Heidi is going to seat. I know can tell you everything. It has a very sad ending, but also a very good one. Clyite's boy friend dies from a brain tumor, but Andi and Greg make up in the end. They are at the end also officiously engaged. I think there should a another one after The Heart Only Knows. They still haven't yet got married. Greg hasn't told the world about his engagement to Andi. Greg's baseball team the Diamondbacks made it to the world series, and you need to find out if they win the world series. They are great books. I hope my blogs' have inspired more people to read books.

The next book I am reading is called PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austin. Most of have probably read it. I have not. I am reading it from one of those small books. I am also excited because it has little drawing in is. So far I am not very far in it. All they have done is Mrs. Bennett has tried to get her five daughters married off to the most riches men.

I am getting very excited for Nutcraker. I think quite a bite of the fun is being able to play around in the dressings rooms. Sometimes if you are lucky, and you have a really nice chaperone. You can go visit your friends that are in other classes, and that are in other dressing rooms. The worst of the dressing rooms is mostly the heat, and if the people get to noisey.

Blog Number 4

The book I am reading now is called HOOPER HALLER, written by Dean Hughes. It is another book about baseball pitcher. He goes to the major leagues at the age of seventeen. He is a really good pitcher, but he stuggles with all the emotional fillings, and forgetting a game he didn't do well on. During this time is also trying to fit in because he is LDS, and that dosen't help him to fill more in.

The book I am reading now is called JENNY HALLER, written by Dean Hughes. It is simply a squel to the book called Hooper Haller. The girl that you think he is going to marry have a big fight. I can't tell you anymore about this because I haven't finsihed the book. He also has a problem with his arm. So for awhile he doesn't know if is going to be able to contuninug pitching. So far he has come back from this injury.

Another book that I think everyone should read is the WORK AND THE GLORY by Gerald N. Lund. I haven't read them since last year, but I have been listening on tape. I do this in the morning and when I am cleaning my room and such. I amy write now in the seventh and there are nine. I am to the part where the saints are just starting to leave Nauvoo. If you like church history and such you will love these books. I am really excited for the movie coming out during Thanksgiving. The books start with you meeting Joseph Smith as one of the hired hands for the main family. They end in book nine when they finally reach the Salt Lake Valley. I will warn you I don't care much for the fourth one. That is when the saints take most of the persucution. They also have Hauns Mill in that one. The Prophet Joseph doesn't die clear till the sixth book. They spend about the last to books coming across the plains.

This Saturday in dance it was very busy. I was there from eight to ten for my class, and I stay a half in hour into the next class so I can do pilates with there class. Then I had to come home and run throught the shower and get my hair done, like they want it done from Nutcraker. The at eleven thirty. I had to be back for Nutcraker practice. Till about twelve fifteen then I stayed there for forty-five more minutes. My mom was helping with costumes. Then at one o'clock, I had to get into my costume and get my picture taken. Then I finally got home around two o'clock. I really enjoy it. It may sound like a lot of work, but there is always someone to talk to and, most of the time something to help with. The one bad thing is one of the Lady in Waiting she does the Davis High dance, and she hurt her foot. So she is on cruchets for about two to three weeks. Luickly they think she will beable to dance, and if not we will only have seven ladies in waiting, because they won't have time to call another. But most likely she will just have to do it foot or not.

Blog Number 3

The book I am reading is another one the of the LDS romance novels. I will tell you more when I remember to have the book by me, I guess I could go get it but I have other thinks I need to do. The book is called THE HEART HAS ITS REASONS by Kerry Blair. It is about a girl by the name of Andi, and a boy by the name of Greg. Greg is a pro-fessional baseball player. He is a pitcher. Thought he does not act like it for he is very kind and consideret. She is waiting for her return missionarary then some person she is slowly starting to fall in love. He almost dies from a baseball hiting him in the head, and then when he was lingering between death and living. Her voice called him back, so he started to get better.

There is the next book a squeal to The Heart Has Its Reason, this one is called THE HEARTS ONLY KNOWS. It is about Greg and Andi, they are engaged but, they don't want the public to know. So he has to not comunicate with Andi until a person that is giving him greif is behind bars. So that they will not kidnap Andi to make him do something he doesn't want to do. I can't tell you any more or I will spoil the book, plus I haven't finsih reading it yet.

Then a great movie that I have watched recently SINGING IN THE RAIN. It is about the time when the motion pitures were coming out with sound. It has one of my most favorite actors Donald O'Conner. There is one actor she is very pretty, and a good actor, but she can't sing or dance. That is what they need for there next show. She they don't have her take part in the dancing, but they have someone without a good voice sing for her, and do her talking linds without her knowing. So in the end they are planning to announce who did the voice, but she won't allow it. So this girl Cathy does all this with out any credit. Then when the show is out the girl who did not do the talking makes a speech, without the other girl talking. Then they want her to sing so the one girl is behind the screen while the other is in front faking it. Then they pull the curtain and it is reviled who was really singing.

Blog Number 2

Since we are not suppose to write about school or such anymore I will write about a topic I enjoy, reading. So I will summarize the book I have been reading so if you want to read it you can. It is called FOUL PLAY by Betsy Brannon Green. It is a mystery/romance, LDS kind of book.
Billie is going to go on vacation, but something goes wrong so she is not able to go, but she meets someone called Nathan, Kip, and a few others. She has to show them places to buy a piece of property so that they can build there paper plant. A few things go wrong and she is on the run, but not for what most people think she is running for. She stays in some interstice place. If you read this book please like to this blog like Mr. Thompson said is possible, and tell me how you liked it. If you like this book I can tell you a few more good ones she has written that I have read.

I will now tell you about my ballet experience for today Saturday. I went at 8:00 in the morning for 1 or my 3 practices during the week, and was finished at 9:30. Today we did all on toe shoes. Then I had to be back at 10:30 because my mom was helping with costumes for nutcracker, and had to be there half in hour before the first fitting. Then I had my fitting at 11:00 for Lady in Waiting. I am the shortest person. The dresses you have to string up like a corset. They are very heavy, they are also so long that you can't see your feet. Then at 11:30 I had to go to practice with the other seven Ladies in Waitings till 12:15, and that is my day of dancing.

Blog Number 1

I really don't know what to type so I will just tell you what I did on Thur. Sept. 9, 2004. I got up practiced my piano, ate breakfast and went to school. I went throught my classes. Did well on my test in third period (symphonic band). Studied Greek Mythology in forth period with Mrs. Eller. Had fifth and then went to lunch. I had a great time at lucnch, had a little headache, but it went away. I then went to sixth period played "Come Come Ye Saints" in seminary. I then went to seventh period, and it wasn't to exciting.
I then rushed home to get ready for ballet. I we did are techinque shoes, and then the later part of class we danced on toe shoes. I felt a blister coming, but class ended before it was fully developed. I then came home and relaxed for a little while. Then have had dinner and been working on my homework since. Sorry if this sounds like mummbling like I said before, I really don't know what to write (type).
Sat. Sept. 11, 2004, Today was a busy day for I had Nutcraker tryouts. My first tryout was at 8:00 Saturday morning, for toe. I did not make it on toe, but then at 10:00 their was tryouts for the tallest and those who did not make it on toe. Since they decide what group you tryout in by your highth. I don't find out what I am until Monday. I really hope that I am not a solider again, I want to be a mouse.
Mon. Sept. 13, 2004, I found out tonight that I am a Lady in Waiting in the Nutcraker. It is better than solider, but I still wish I was a mouse. They have really long and big dresses, so I think it is going to be hard to dance graceful, with a big heavy dress.

Hello World

Hello World!!!!
